TNR August 12th Calm and Collective

TNR Epilogue: The ride ended rather abruptly for several in the group right after the turnoff onto "K". At least two of the group got a ride in the rescue squad with separated or broken collarbones with several receiving some nasty road rash and the normal sprains and pains from discovering pea graveled roads bottom side down. There was quick response from both the group and the Luxemburg FD and it ended as well as can be expected with all treated and bikes recovered with somewhat minimal damage.

It pays to note that accidents can happen at any moment and to anyone or group. Thinking about how to respond to the unavoidable should be on every ones # 1 list. Experienced riders know that to be able to respond to a flux situation you need to stay focused on what is happening up the road and to not make it worse by changing lines. That is why we harp about line control.

Tonight was a reminder to stay vigilant and focused out there. Next week it will be important to get back in the saddle and not be too tentative and just take that deep breath..... as we roll out again.

Remember: SO2 (Stay on Two)

Twenty plus riders headed out under warm, overcast but calm conditions. Super Jenny was the only man-free rider in a group that included several 250 mile per week riders. Check out the pic's from the In Comp Sky Cam as the group rolls out.
